I don’t know about you, but I have always imagined my kids would grow up to be book lovers, just like I am!
So when Mr8 was still apprehensive about picking up any books to read on his own, I decided to give him a helping hand.
I took him to the shops to see what he gravitated towards in the book section. He picked a couple of titles and I bought them both, but Diary of a Minecraft Zombie was the book that he not only read, but he asked for the next one in the series! My heart sang – these books finally got my son reading!
We bought the following books in the series and he has now read 16 of them! His confidence has grown with each book read and he’s even been reading them out loud to his sister!
I have asked my son what made him want to read this series. His answer: “The story is very interesting: some parts are funny and some parts are a little scary, but I kept wanting to know what happens next!”
If you have an apprehensive reader, I would definitely recommend giving this series a go!
